The Rise Above Tour - is the evolution of an extraordinary recovery process. The tour is far more than a grass roots campaign effort: it is a lifestyle. Through public speaking presentations, athletic endeavors and fundraising events, The Rise Above Tour will promote and raise awareness for C.O.R.E "Center Of Rehabilitative Exercise".
In June, 2007, Aaron Baker and a team of dedicated, like-minded individuals set off on a journey of epic proportion. The 3,182-mile bicycling tour crossed the United States from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida raising awareness and funds for Spinal Cord injury research and, more importantly, rehabilitation. It is through tireless rehabilitation that Aaron, who, once paralyzed, is now propelling a bicycle for this great cause. "I envision opportunity," says Baker, "an abundance of opportunity for my fellow friend who suffers. A common place where he or she can improve the quality of his or her life through exercise and inspiration. Our goal is to provide this opportunity."
