NUSTEP RECEIVES ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION'S EASE-OF-USE COMMENDATION
December 30, 2005

Arthritis FoundationNuStep Inc., the maker of the NuStep TRS 4000 Recumbent Cross Trainer, that transforms lives by improving health and wellness among people of all ages, was recently awarded an Arthritis Foundation Ease-of-Use Commendation.

"Arthritis can make it difficult for individuals to complete even the simplest everyday tasks," said Steve Sarns, vice president of sales and marketing at NuStep. "NuStep's user-friendly design is ideal for use by individuals with arthritis; it provides simultaneous upper and lower body conditioning without putting stress on the joints. NuStep is proud to help people with arthritis reap the benefits of exercise without incurring difficulties or discomfort."

The Arthritis Foundation's Ease-of-Use Commendation program encourages products, services and packaging innovations that provide benefits and improve the quality of life for people with arthritis. Products that are awarded an Ease-of-Use Commendation provide greater accessibility or ease of use. In order to be considered for the program, the product, package or service must be reviewed and rated by a panel of health professionals and individuals with various forms of arthritis.

Participants in the NuStep evaluation had symptoms ranging from degenerative arthritis to rheumatoid arthritis to fibromyalgia. Eighty-seven percent of the participants rated NuStep as extremely easy to use, and all participants cited that they would recommend NuStep to friends with arthritis.

"Arthritis causes stiffness and inflammation of the joints and it can be difficult and painful for patients to walk, much less exercise," said Mary Norman, group vice president, strategic marketing alliances department, Arthritis Foundation. "The goal of the Ease-of-Use program is to find products that will help ease difficulties found in everyday life and to inform those who suffer from arthritis of the many products available to improve their quality of life."
