Inside NuStep: PressNUSTEP PARTNERS WITH MEDICAL FITNESS ASSOCIATION TO PRESENT NATIONAL WALKING CHALLENGE NuStep Inc. recently joined with the Medical Fitness Association to sponsor the Second Annual Medical Fitness Week, April 24-30, and its Steppin' Out National Walking Challenge. The National Walking Challenge engages local communities throughout the world, focusing on teaching families the skills needed to develop healthy lifestyle habits. As part of the National Walking Challenge, participating facilities will raise money to support local educational and scholarship programs focused on childhood obesity. The National Walking Challenge focuses attention in local communities on the need for both parents and children to adopt healthy lifestyle habits. "Supporting the National Walking Challenge, and its goal of promoting health and wellness, is a key component to NuStep's mission," said Steve Sarns, NuStep vice president of sales and marketing. "By recognizing that fitness and mobility are key to lifelong wellness, NuStep, like the National Walking Challenge, endeavors to transform lives." During the National Walking Challenge, communities strive to move more than 70,000 steps in seven days and help to raise money for local programs and scholarship funds to fight childhood obesity. Organized through medical fitness facilities, the challenge involves wearing a pedometer to track how many steps participants are achieving. "Obesity is an epidemic that can be 'cured' simply by focusing on wellness and exercise," said Cary Wing, EdD, Medical Fitness Association executive director. "The National Walking Challenge message is that positive, life long change is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. NuStep's support of the National Walking Challenge helps the Medical Fitness Association bring that positive message, and make an impact, to both individuals and communities."
