Press: NuStep's Leg Stabilizer: Breakthrough Innovation

February 12, 2007

ANN ARBOR, MI - NuStep, Inc., a leader in breakthrough wellness innovations, has developed the Leg Stabilizer, a new accessory for the TRS 4000 Recumbent Cross Trainer.

The Leg Stabilizer is a lightweight device that easily attaches to the TRS 4000.  It was developed for users with muscular deficiencies and limited mobility. By supporting and aligning the leg in a neutral position during a workout on the NuStep TRS 4000, the Leg Stabilizer reduces uneven and undesirable loading of the hip, knee and ankle joints.

"NuStep's Leg Stabilizer keeps the leg traveling in a linear motion," explained Steve Sarns, NuStep's vice president of sales and marketing.  "It was created to meet the demands of those in the health and wellness fields who want to offer their low-functioning clients a more comfortable, safe and effective workout."

Clinicians and physical therapists at various rehabilitation and wellness centers across the U.S. tested NuStep's Leg Stabilizer. Nine out of 10 beta test clinicians who tested the Leg Stabilizer reported that users achieved a more effective workout with the Leg Stabilizer compared to other methods of leg stabilization. The test clinicians also reported that the Leg Stabilizer provided more correct body alignment, required fewer adjustment interruptions and minimized joint pain.

The Leg Stabilizer, which can be stored on the product when not in use, replaces improvised stabilization methods such as bands, bandages or belts that clinicians and physical therapists often use to stabilize their patients' legs.

Constructed of aluminum components, the Leg Stabilizer is lightweight and easy to attach, remove and adjust.  High quality needle roller bearings provide a smooth and maintenance free operation. The ergonomic leg cuff has an adjustable attachment strap that enhances comfort and ensures a proper fit for a wide range of users.

The Leg Stabilizer joins NuStep's suite of essential add-on products specially designed to meet the unique needs of physical therapy and rehabilitation patients.  Other products available from NuStep include the WellGrip™ handle-gripping accessory, foot straps, seat belt and Polar® wireless transmitter system.
