NuStep Raffle Helps Physical Therapist Transform Lives

Leo Albano

NuStep recently awarded Leo Albano a NuStep TRS 4000 Recumbent Cross Trainer. Albano was the winner of NuStep's raffle at the recent American Physical Therapy Association conference.

Albano is a private practice physical therapist and co-owner of Olympic Physical Therapy in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

"The NuStep TRS 4000 is a valuable addition to our equipment; it is the most diverse piece of exercise equipment that is currently available to assist in the rehabilitation of patients with upper extremity, lower extremity and spinal disorders," said Albano. "By providing a low impact tool for physical therapy, NuStep can be used at the very early stages of therapy to build muscle and strength. It is a great piece of equipment to improve knee mobility in patients with total knee replacements, for example."

"The best thing about NuStep is that it gives our patients the ability to use their unaffected limbs to assist in the movement of their affected limbs during a variety of stages throughout their recovery process," Albano added.

After working at the Medical University of South Carolina for the past seven years as head of its outpatient orthopedic team for the past four years, Albano, together with his business partner, recently opened Olympic Physical Therapy. Olympic Physical Therapy focuses on manual therapy and exercise, specializing in personalized care.

"A key challenge for physical therapists is to help patients with limited ability regain strength and mobility using safe, effective tactics," said Steve Sarns, vice president of marketing, NuStep,Inc. "The TRS 4000 provides a low impact workout that engages not only the recovering muscles, but a patient's total body, too. NuStep is unparalleled in its functionality and versatility."
