Hi Everyone,

This week’s blog is about seasonal changes in the weather and the adjustments required to maintain our nutrition and fitness routine.

One thing we absolutely have to keep doing is drinking water and staying hydrated.

One of the biggest myths ever is when people think it’s not as hot outside or as humid, so they don’t need to consume as much water, “WRONG”.

The reality is dehydration is just as much of a problem in the Fall and Winter, as it is in the Spring and Summer.

Being inside, during the winter months, may bring about dehydration because we tend to drink more hot beverages, like coffee, which is high in caffeine and a diuretic.

So keep drinking water because it is so important.

Eating habits change during the fall and winter. We have the tendency to eat more fats, unknowingly.

We actually need to maintain the same great eating habits all year long, especially in the winter months.

Our bodies operate more efficiently when we are healthy during the winter months. We shouldn’t be packing on the pounds in the winter.

When we put on weight during the colder seasons, we tend to move slower and that actually makes us feel colder.

It also makes us more vulnerable to illness by wearing down our immune system.

So by being in a healthier state, we will move quicker and our immune system will be stronger. We will not call in sick as frequently. We will be more efficient at work because we will be in a healthier state.

It’s time for my NuStep workout.

This Week’s O’Nealism:

You can’t teach a person vision or talent. That comes from within. However you can teach awareness of the two. That comes from us all.
