Balance Your Life

One of my favorite mottos is “live a life you love”; very short and very powerful. Maintaining balance in my life is key to sticking to this motto and staying healthy. There are so many things in life that fill our tank and give us fuel to live an awesome life, but when these things are unbalanced, something is bound to suffer. A 70 hour work week is going to take time away from family or your workouts. Getting in 3 hours at the gym every day will take away from time with friends.

Here’s an analogy; look at your life as a wheel, all the spokes of the wheel are the important things that make up your life. Work, exercise, rest, family, fun, food and whatever else is important to you. If you are out of balance on any of these, you have to take a spoke out of the wheel to make room. Your ride will be unbalanced and eventually it will fall apart. When you’re balanced the wheel will go on and on!

This week, I hope you’ll make a list of what’s important in your life and create your own equation to calculate the life you love to live! Then start making the necessary changes to achieve that balance. Remember, the choice is always yours, and sometimes, it’s ok to say “no” to keep things running smoothly.
